If you are thinking about having a themed party, an Elvis party might be a fun one to go with. You have Elvis music and movies for entertainment and there is a plethora of “Elvis favorites” you could serve up as food and snacks at your party. Because Elvis is such a well-known person it is easy to get decorations.

There are lots of fun games and activities that you could enjoy at an Elvis party. You can get an Elvis CD and play the first few bars of a track and then have your guests try to name the tune; or play part of a song then pause it and have people try to complete the line. You can also read some facts about Elvis and make a number of questions for a trivia game or a quiz with a prize. Here is a little information about Elvis that you may utilize to make some trivia cards or questions.

Elvis Presley arrived on the American music scene in 1956, however he’d already been well-known locally around Memphis for some time beforehand. He promptly became identified with the new rock’n'roll music and teenagers just about everywhere took him to their hearts. His sensual style during his performances got his female fans into a frenzy, which initially prompted much criticism in the media – but the subsequent publicity did no harm at all to his career. Following his being drafted and service in the U.S. Army, without favors or complaint, opinion concerning him in the press began to switch, and when he came back his new, mature style helped him be able to reach an even larger audience.

Not satisfied with being quite possibly the world’s most famous singer, he also went into movies and quickly took Hollywood by storm. Throughout his career he was in 31 movies – all of which were a success at the box office – and in the mid 1960s he was the highest paid actor in Hollywood. After he returned to doing concerts in the seventies his shows in Las Vegas became legendary, and he was before long known as the “World’s Greatest Entertainer”.

One of Elvis’s favorite snacks was peanut butter and banana sandwiches. If you’re planning on having an Elvis party this snack is a must. The way Elvis preferred them is to first toast the bread, then spread on peanut butter. Next slice the bananas and place them on the peanut butter. It is a fantastic snack that will definitely put a smile on the faces of your guests.

If you wish to kick back and relax, you could finish out the party with an Elvis movie, or, if you have a somewhat more rowdy group, you might consider a little Elvis karaoke or an “Elvis hips” contest in which you see who can imitate Elvis’s dancing and those legendary hips.

An Elvis party really can be a great deal of fun and leave your guests raving about your party for years to come. It’ll be unique and original and probably different than any other party your guests have ever been invited to. “It’s now or never”, deliver those invites and hopefully you will not get them back with “return to sender” stamped on them.
