Understanding can be a big part of getting along. When you were a teen, your parents were probably the most disagreeable people in your life. Now, you know why. Use that knowledge to your advantage. Try to approach things in a constructive, rather than aggressive, way. Do not compromise your principles, but explain your reasoning and understand that it can be hard to see the entire picture when you are young.
Unfortunately teen Halloween costumes are not going to be the only worry you have this Halloween. You will need to keep an open line of communication with your children so that you are aware of what’s going on in their lives. Define your rules and regulations before the holiday even arrives. Double check the teen Halloween costumes being worn by any of your children are cute and appropriate. No matter how much they disagree or pout, continue to put your foot down.
